Sacred Stories, a 2 day workshop :::

Katariina ::: I believe that within each woman is a doorway to sacred creativity. The feminine is the soil where all creative seeds are planted.  When women gather and share their stories, a powerful energy emerges.

This workshop is designed as part creative writing, and part creative photography; but those mediums are merely tools to discover the real juiciness that is waiting dormant within.

Oxford is the perfect environment for this work because it holds a mystery that has inspired epic works of fiction. This workshop is a unique opportunity to write on the banks of the Isis river on the very meadow that inspired numerous fantastical tales involving a mad tea party, hobbits and magical wardrobes to name a few.

We will embark on a journey from Magdalen College to Port Meadow, St Margaret’s Healing (Treacle) Well and the ruins of Godstow Nunnery.  Along the way we will stop to listen, write, dream and connect to the land and to our own inner stories.

This course is for the beginner and seasoned writer and photographer. Through gathering and gentle rituals of writing, listening, and storytelling, you will awaken your indigenous feminine wisdom and discover that wild, uncultivated voice within.  Writing with this voice is where all great storytelling begins.

You will go home with a new spark of excitement, inspiration, pages of the beginnings of epic stories, and new daily writing practices. In addition you will carry home your own personal totem invoked with your intentions for story crafting, plus some other surprises I’m cooking up.

 If you have yet to be called an incorrigible defiant woman, don’t worry, there is still time. ~ Dr. Estes

Earthrise is the perfect environment for this work because it holds a mystery that has inspired the study of a deeper understanding of consciousness (Noetic Sciences), and was once the hallowed land of the Miwok tribe. This workshop is a unique opportunity to write surrounded by ancient oaks, soaring vistas and rolling hills.

We will be mostly outside walking along the sacred, spiritual landscape; stopping to listen, write, dream and connect to the land and to our own inner stories.
