This photo was taken in 2008 from my honey’s apartment in downtown Austin. There was this terribly loud squeaking train that would pass by at odd times during the day & night. This was a strange limbo time for both us as we would both travel back & forth to each other’s homes for quick visits but longed to be able to live together. Eventually in the fall it worked out & he and Alaska (his daughter) moved up in the snow to Santa Fe to live in the haunted house (there is another story for another time).
I just stumbled upon this photo recently & decided to work on it a bit while remembering that sweet time of the beginning of falling in love. We sat out on the porch, holding each other while we watched fireworks exploding above this power plant on the 4th of July. Austin holds sweet memories for me.
